So, it's the end of the year again. Before I come out with my 2011 New Year resolutions post (which I had in my draft since don't know when), I would like to do a recap for the whole 2010 I went through.
2010 has been a very eventful year. I never realize I went through so much if I didn't browse back my photo album. 2010 has been so eventful that I almost uploaded 50 plus pictures here to reflect my year. Of course, no way I can do this, so I actually spent hours filtering them and categorizing them.
Reflections on my academic:
Early this year, again, I attended the Dean List Award Ceremony. I would say, this is my proudest achievement I had during my 3 semesters in university. Got to the top of the list, surpassing another with just CGPA 0.01. Nothing much to brag about though. Just glad I maintained in the list. Pictured were me and my mentor, Dr. Sham.
Updated on my latest results for the semester 1 Year 3; it was pretty bad. Worst result I had so far. Not sure if I can maintain to be in first class honor. *pray silently*
A very surprising award that I never knew it actually existed during my whole 3 years in university; Anugerah Pencinta Ilmu. Basically, an award for top scorers in each faculty and at the same time, being the most active customers of our library. The award actually comes with lots of I-won't-really-read-books and a pendrive (awesome~)

Reflections on Korean Student Winter Exchange Program to UKM:
Can say it's one of my first leadership role in AIESEC. I actually volunteered to facilitate these Korean students, from two universities who came to our university and have their one month exchange program. Okay...I volunteered and so into it cause I wasn't taking any semester that period (I was waiting to fly to Korea). So I'm really free besides The Red Project.What's the best thing about my involvement with this students are;
- I get so many new Korean friends, who I get to keep in touch, especially when I went to Korea a month after that.
- I went to so many places, traveling for free with them! Places including KL, Genting Highland, Malacca and Port Dickson!
- I am able to practice my leadership skills by helping university administration to plan and co-ordinate the outdoor activities and the Korean.
Reflections on my exchange program to Korea:
Probably my most exciting moments in 2010 and my whole life. And I believe from this exchange, there are so many first-times I had. I believe,too, there are slight changes in the way I see life is. From this exchange, I come back, wanting to try more new stuff. Explore another part of the world, not necessarily abroad; trying out something I never try before.Talking about first-times, I had the first time encounter with snow. Building snowman was just a part of my silly childhood dream. Now, it's a memory. Same goes as flying in an airplane. I can still feel how my heart beats as MH066 takes off from KLIA ground on 25th February 2010, 23:30. I couldn't sleep the whole journey.
Reflections on the places I explored:
As I said, I had the urge of going places, exploring every nook and cranny of them. Pictured clockwise from left:
- I-city with course-mates. Awesome place in Shah Alam to take beautiful pictures.
- Malacca with Korean exchange students. Okay, I know this is so lame but serious, I've never been to Malacca before this.
- National Monument with the Koreans. Now I know, I know I have lot's of first times with the Koreans. Shame on me.....
- Pulau Ketam (Crab Island) with course-mates.
- Kanching waterfall with friends during mid semester holidays. Some hiking but a very relaxing experience once you've reach the waterfall and dip your feet into cold, refreshing water.
- Port Dickson with the Koreans.
- Broga Hill with AIESECers. I find it torturing to hike all the way up and seriously, I thought I will die half-way there. However, thanks to friends' encouragement, I finally made it up to the highest spot. I'm really proud that I actually made it. I've learn something really important from this; `If you think you cannot, you already failed'.
- Carey Island and Morib Beach. Wasn't really impressed with the trip but it was still another relaxing trip to a beach.
Reflections on some of the famous people I met:
The only famous people I remember chatting with, having personal body contact (okay, it's just a handshake~) with and having him to write my name and sign on my CD is David Choi. Well, I wasn't a very big fan of him before that but because he's in Korea holding performance and I knew he will never come to Malaysia (psst...he's an Korean American, if you don't know); plus I have some extra wons to splurge, so I went to his performance. And I was kinda crazy of him since meeting him up. I still like `That Girl' crazily till now.
F(x), a quite popular female k-pop group, which I don't really know who are they up till now. I mean, if it is SNSD or Wonder Girls, I'll definitely scream my lungs out. But I guess F(x) wasn't so bad cause the Koreans do scream their lungs out when they came over my school's festival.
Okay, cut it short. It's Rynn Lim Yee Chung, one of the popular Malaysian chinese singer who came to my university's Pesta Angpau. Like his song. Got to go near of him. Nothing much to hoo-hah about anyway.
Reflections on some of the awesome things I tried:
I hope picture explains well;
- My second time performing in Festival Seni UKM. Last year, I played the clarinet in Brass Band. This year, I played tambourine in Caklempong. And I had to play on stage. Well, it's my first time performing on DECTAR's stage, and I really felt proud for that.
- I changed my hairstyle once I got back from Korea and has been receiving a lot of praises.
- I tried taking photo stickers in Korea, since I know photo booths and photo stickers are really hot thing over there.
- Went clubbing with some girls at MOS Euphoria. Got a little bit drunk cause I underestimated the alcohol proportion in a glass of lime vodka. Would love to go again, but no kaki lah~
- Got my feet bandaged first time in my entire life; because some really excited Korean guys throw me in Port Dickson's water.
- Wore a Punjabi suit in Affair event, MyLDS. Thanks Kannan's mom for the beautiful attire.
- Finaly, got my hands on the archery equipment in Sunway Archery Center.
- Bought a lot of books, now sitting nicely on my shelf, waiting to be read. I have to admit, I get so excited when I see books and I'm willing to splurge on them. But finish reading them is another story :(.
- Okay, a bit malu-fying, but I actually had my first Karaoke session recently. I realize the problem is not that I couldn't sing or not so much on the Chinese lyrics that I couldn't read, but it was more to low self esteem I had all this while.
- Tried fish spa when bring the Koreans to Pasar Seni. Wonderful experience *wink*
- Tried Ice skating, finally. Very fun indeed, although it was very painful to have your ass slap the cold ice floor for like 3-4 times.
Reflections on what I ate:
Okay, I admit, I'm not a person craving so much on food. I still don't get why I'm so fat while thin people gets to enjoy food and still, remains thin. Life's not fair. Anyway, I still love to try new things, including food, but probably not so much on the appreciation side;
- First time RM2 Sushi King Bonanza, twice. And I still love Japanese food :)
- Cooked my own for the first time in my entire life because there is kitchen in my apartment and there is no Mom. I'm quite impressed with myself, although I don't come out with some shocking dishes, mostly instant, but hey, that's a good start! And, and I even managed to boil ABC soup in Korea!
- Jogoya
- Chicken rice ball in Malacca. I personally think they're over rated.
-Speaking about alcohol, I got drunk for the first time in Korea. Awful experience I would say. Me, puking in the hotel's toilet bowl and almost sleeping in the toilet except because the toilet floor was freaking freezing, I was forced to return to bed. Not forgetting the terrible headache I had the next day. And I was terribly insulted with the fact that I was the only one who got drunk in the drinking game among Chinese and Malaysian the night before!
Reflections on my AIESEC experiences:
I had so much to say about my AIESEC journey for the year 2010. I started taking responsibilities in this organization as Director of Finance and Administration for The Red Project, a project which educate young people on HIV/AIDS. Among my job description was to plan on the project's finances as well as doing cold calling to companies for sponsorships. It was really a short period as I had to leave for Korea but I really learn a lot from there. Especially making cold calls to companies and even had my first marketing trip (even though it's not successful). I even had the chance to conduct a workshop and condom demonstration.
While in Korea, I decided a lot (I mean really A LOT) before I applied for Executive Board 2010/2011. I never regretted the choice I made back then, cause if I didn't grab the chance, I would be like any other college kid who do normal stuff. I didn't want to do just normal stuff. That's how I end up being a Director of Finance and Administration for AIESEC in UKM 2010/2011. 6 months down the road, it's not easy. The processes are tough, but I learn to enjoy them. My personal favorite quote from Anisha (AIESEC alumni):

Never ever ever EVER be a normal student.
Be EXTRAORDINARY!
I met a lot of awesome people. Many from around the globe. Name it; Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Egypt, Vietnam, Pakistan, and many many more! Even locally; USM, UTM, UPM, UM, UUM etc. What's more awesome than these?
So much things had happened and they can never really fit into one post. I didn't break them into different posts because, I felt, no matter how fruitful the year might be, still, I'm going to look front. Looking how 2011 will turns out to be. How am I going to make 2011 be better than 2010? That's the question.
